About Cookworm

Posted by the cookworm on May 19th, 2007

I live in Pittsburgh, PA, and created cookworm to chronicle some of my adventures (and misadventures) with sugar and spice, and as an attempt at organizing recipes in a useful manner (bits of paper stuffed in various places around the kitchen is the current scheme). I may occasionally talk about restaurants and other food-related goings-on in my city, as well. The name cookworm nicely sums up my affection for books, cooking, and really bad puns.

What sort of things do I cook? A little bit of everything, really, but with emphasis on baking and desserts of all kinds, as well as savory flavors of the East. I have a colossal sweet tooth, and my friends and family have become the obligatory recipients of my baking binges. At the same time, health is also important to me, and I try to reflect that in daily meals. I do a lot of vegetarian cooking, but mostly because I like the innovation and variety of many veg. dishes - I have no particular beef with meat (see, I warned you). I’m conscious of what I eat, but don’t let it hold me back from trying new things.
